Watch me
Watch me Daddy! Here I am, building castles in the sand.. Look at this and look at me, building castles by the sea.. Sand and water in the mix at the tender age of six.. Watch me Daddy! Watch me run.. Did you see the race I won? See my feet, how quick they are, faster than a shooting star.. Racing, running with the wind, back when I was only ten.. Watch me Daddy. See me grow.. How I long for you to know.. In your eyes I long to see you find joy in watching me.. Only wanting to be seen, as a child and as a teen.. Watch me Dad, now I'm a man, (or at least I think I am) with the joys of life ahead, working for my daily bread.. My adult life had just begun at the age of twenty-one.. Watch me Dad. Yes it's true.. I'm a father just like you.. When I look into her eyes, I see a very special prize.. How my heart & soul were glad, when I too became a Dad.. Watch me Dad.. Now I know Father God who loves me so.. How He cares for you and I, when we laugh, when we cry.. Living in His love divine at the age of twenty-nine.. Looking back through the years, in the triumphs and the tears Father God was surely there, though I was simply unaware - When my Dad wasn't there to see, My Heavenly Daddy was watching me.. |
